Beyond the Application: Selecting the Class of 2026

At the Boswell Family Charitable Foundation (BFCF), we believe that every student has a story worth telling, and every donor gift is a seed for a future leader. Throughout April, while our public communications were quiet, our organization was in a season of deep focus. Our 8-member Scholarship Committee has been hard at work reviewing the 24 applications we received for the 2026 cycle.

The “Working Board” Standard of Review

As a “Working Board,” we don’t just glance at GPAs; we dedicate up to 15 hours per month per director to ensure every scholarship “investment” is handled with professional excellence. We look for the “resilient and ambitious”—the students who have demonstrated the heart to lead despite lacking the financial means to easily access higher education.

Our Strategic Selection Framework:

  • Resilience & Ambition: We prioritize students who have overcome significant hurdles, whether financial, personal, or systemic, to maintain their educational goals.
  • Professional Potential: We evaluate how the student’s personal statement aligns with their long-term career aspirations, looking for “industry-focused” visionaries.
  • Mission Alignment: We seek students who will serve as the hands and feet of Christ within their own communities, embodying joy, hope, and love.
  • Empowering Communications: Every interaction we have with applicants is designed to be empowering, stating clearly what materials—from Transcripts to Personal Statements—are required to help them succeed.

Stewarding Your Investment

Selecting a recipient is a spiritual and professional responsibility to steward your donor funds with total transparency. We know that early engagement is a strong signal for growth, which is why we invite you to participate in this journey with us.

On May 20th, we will officially announce the 2026 scholarship recipients. These young scholars represent the future of our communities, and we cannot wait for you to meet them.
